Working with the Travel Trade
We work closely with the travel trade – such as tour operators and travel agents – to provide them with the information and tools they need to create packages and encourage visitors to choose Scotland as a destination to visit.
The travel trade provides essential intermediary channels that allow consumers to find inspiring Scotland products that meet their needs. We provide valuable platforms and routes to market for Scottish tourism businesses, which in turn drives the development of products and supports sustainable tourism growth.
VisitScotland EXPO is Scotland’s flagship annual event for the travel trade and the only travel trade fair in the UK that exclusively promotes Scotland.
EXPO offers the perfect opportunity for Scottish-based businesses to showcase their products and services to potential buyers from the UK and around the globe.
We welcome buyers from all sectors, from coach tour operators and group travel organisers to tourism product wholesalers, specialist and independent tour operators and travel media.

Exhibitors at VisitScotland EXPO explain why they attend the show
VisitScotland EXPO is our showcase event of the year. It's our big travel trade and networking event, and it's been on the go since 1980.
Exhibiting as part of a group at EXPO is ideal. It allows some of our smaller attractions to come along and get themselves in front of some of the major buyers. For example, the Segway Centre dipped their toe in last year, they got a great response, and they've come back again this year.
"There's no other show in Scotland that offers me the opportunity to speak to the international travel trade from large-scale group travel organisers to international travel journalists at the same time and in the same way."
"It's a really good show, we look forward to it every year, and we always come away with a good buzz about it at the end."
"We've got clients that have been with us for nearly 20 years that we've met at the show, and their business has just grown year on year. We've got one customer that started off spending £1,000 with us; they're now spending 5 or 6 figures with us, and the relationship we've got with them is absolutely fantastic."
"Exhibiting is definitely worthwhile, especially now we've got the smaller shell, ideal for the smaller businesses like ourselves. Yesterday was very, very busy - appointments all morning and afternoon. it's a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world, make more international contacts, and propell ourselves into the wider world."
"Different people from lots of different places coming to the stand that we wouldn't necessarily have gone to ourselves, and yeah, I think overall it's been a really good show."
"It's opened the door to tourism in a way that we haven't had it opened before.
We've got clients that have been with us for nearly 20 years that we've met at the show, and their business has just grown year on year.
