Working with the Travel Trade
We work closely with the travel trade – such as tour operators and travel agents – to provide them with the information and tools they need to create packages and encourage visitors to choose Scotland as a destination to visit.
VisitScotland has a website dedicated to travel trade. You can sign up to this, free of charge, via our traveltrade website.
The travel trade provides essential intermediary channels that allow consumers to find inspiring Scotland products that meet their needs. We provide valuable platforms and routes to market for Scottish tourism businesses, which in turn drives the development of products and supports sustainable tourism growth.
VisitScotland EXPO is Scotland’s flagship annual event for the travel trade and the only travel trade fair in the UK that exclusively promotes Scotland.
EXPO offers the perfect opportunity for Scottish-based businesses to showcase their products and services to potential buyers from the UK and around the globe.

Exhibitors at VisitScotland EXPO explain why they attend the show
VisitScotland EXPO is our showcase event of the year. It's our big travel trade and networking event, and it's been on the go since 1980.
Exhibiting as part of a group at EXPO is ideal. It allows some of our smaller attractions to come along and get themselves in front of some of the major buyers. For example, the Segway Centre dipped their toe in last year, they got a great response, and they've come back again this year.

China Business Development Mission: 22-29 November 2018
The China BDM provides a unique platform for Scottish destinations, products and suppliers to do business with VisitScotland’s key accounts and top tour operators from China who have particular interest in group tours, FIT, luxury and niche product development such as golf, whisky.

India BDM: Mumbai and Delhi, 21 – 28 November 2018
Join us on our India Business development Mission with a particular focus on luxury/experiential product development. This mission will give Scottish tourism businesses the opportunity to meet face-to-face with the Indian travel trade based in Mumbai and Delhi. The mission will consist of product training workshops with key agent networks, as well as some desk side appointments and Scotland focused events in partnership with a key airline (TBC) in these cities.

Fitur: Madrid, Spain. 23-27 January 2019
We are looking for partners to join them at Fitur, the world’s 2nd largest travel show. This is a great opportunity for Scottish businesses to meet large numbers of Spanish consumers as well as buyers representing the Spanish, Latin American and Portuguese markets.
