What you need to know

The Beacon Events Programme complements the existing National and International Programmes and will support strategic development activity in line with the objectives of the National Events Strategy - Scotland the Perfect Stage.

The purpose of the Beacon Events Programme is to support uniquely Scottish events, which generate tourism benefits, contribute significantly to the Scotland the Perfect Stage impact areas and act as examples of best practice.

How to apply

    Read the guidelines

    Read the Beacon Programme Funding Guidelines, paying particular attention to the fund’s objectives, eligibility and evaluation criteria.

    Request pre-application questionnaire

    Contact your Events Manager to discuss your event proposal and funding request well in advance of the application deadline. The Event Manager will be available throughout the application period for advice and guidance.

    Submit pre-application by deadline

    An electronic submission of the completed application form and any supporting documents must be sent by email to your Events Manager and to on or before the funding round deadline date.

    Following the deadline for applications to be submitted, each applicant will receive an email acknowledging receipt of their application.

    The application will be assessed, and a decision made on the level of funding support. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their pre-application and if successful will be invited to submit a full application for the agreed amount.
