Discover Airlines has announced it will launch new direct services from Frankfurt and Munich to Glasgow and Inverness, strengthening Scotland's connectivity with one of its most valuable international visitor markets.
The new routes will make it easier for German visitors to travel directly to Scotland, supporting tourism businesses, local communities and the wider visitor economy.
Germany is one of Scotland's most important overseas markets, with strong demand for Scotland's landscapes, culture, food and drink, outdoor experiences and city breaks.
From 29 March 2027, Discover Airlines will operate up to six flights a week between Frankfurt and Glasgow. A new seasonal service between Munich and Glasgow will follow from 16 May 2027, operating up to twice weekly, and a direct service will begin weekly on 19 June 2027 between Frankfurt and Inverness.
The routes will also provide visitors with convenient onward connections through the Lufthansa Group network, improving access to Scotland from across Germany and beyond.
The announcement marks Discover Airlines' first route into Scotland and restores direct connections between Glasgow and both Frankfurt and Munich. The airline said it is seeing growing demand for destinations that offer opportunities to experience nature and the outdoors, areas where Scotland has strong international appeal.
