The full route for the 2027 Tour de France has been announced today by race organisers, A.S.O, in Paris.
This marks another milestone moment in the lead up to the 2027 Grand Départ, as the Tour de France race begins in Edinburgh on Friday 2 July 2027. This is the first time that the race will begin in Scotland, and Britain is the first country outside of France to host the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.
The locations of the sprints on the five British road stages are also now confirmed. Newcastleton, in the Scottish Borders, has been announced as hosting the intermediate sprint on stage one.
Look at the dedicated interactive map, which shows the full 184 kilometre route of the opening stage, spanning from Edinburgh, through Midlothian, the Scottish Borders, and Dumfries & Galloway to Carlisle.
