From bagpipes to baseball with JetBlue's new route

Passengers now have even more choice of US holiday destinations after the addition of JetBlue’s Boston summer service, with the inaugural flight taking place today (23 May).

JetBlue will be operating from Edinburgh from 23 May to 25 October, flying daily between Scotland’s capital and one of the US’s most well-known and exciting cities on an A321neo.

It comes after the airline extended its Edinburgh to New York JFK service from 9 May to 25 October – this is following the success of the route’s launch earlier last year.

The route adds to Edinburgh Airport's extensive connections to North America, with seven airlines flying to twelve destinations across the US and Canada this summer.

"The launch of JetBlue’s new Boston service is a fantastic addition to Scotland’s international connectivity. The number of American visitors coming to Scotland has grown back dramatically over recent years. It’s exciting to see airlines responding to this opportunity. In building upon its existing JFK New York service to Edinburgh, JetBlue’s new Boston service contributes to the greatest ever number of seats flying inbound from the US to Scotland this summer.

American travellers to Scotland tend to stay longer and spend more, with luxury travellers enjoying Scotland as a premium destination. JetBlue’s Mint class service will be welcomed by US travel agents catering to this market.

As part of our ongoing work with industry we are helping businesses and events to create and develop a diverse range of engaging, immersive experiences showcasing the very best of Scotland’s people, heritage, and culture.”

“It’s fantastic to be able to offer even more connectivity with the USA with the launch of JetBlue’s Boston route. This follows the successful extension of their JFK route and demonstrates the strong demand for transatlantic travel from Scotland.

"Those connections to the USA and Canada are in high demand from both inbound and outbound passengers, which shows the high interest people in Scotland have for travel, as well as the continued interest in Edinburgh and Scotland from our North American guests.

We are delighted to see the launch of this newest route and look forward to a successful partnership with JetBlue.
