We can reveal that VisitScotland Connect 2027, Scotland’s flagship travel trade event, is set to return to the SEC in Glasgow on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 April 2027, building on the success of this year’s event and once again supported by Visit Glasgow.

Looking ahead, VisitScotland Connect 2028 and 2029 will take place at the P&J live in Aberdeen.

What is VisitScotland Connect?

VisitScotland Connect is designed to generate business opportunities and strengthen Scotland’s visitor economy. Since its inception, the event has brought Scottish tourism businesses together with international and domestic buyers for two full days of in-person meetings.

It gives Scottish businesses the opportunity to showcase their products, experiences and regions for inclusion in Scotland travel itineraries sold worldwide in 2027 and 2028. It also helps build business resilience by opening up access to new audiences and markets, creating opportunities to diversify, fill quieter periods and reduce reliance on any one market.

The event promotes Scotland as a must-visit, must-return year-round destination, and introduces buyers to regions and experiences across the country. This supports season extension and encourages visitors to stay longer and spend more.

The wider VisitScotland Connect experience

The VisitScotland Connect experience extends beyond the two-day programme of meetings, with additional activity before and after the event.

For tourism businesses that are new to working with the travel trade, Online Travel Agents (OTAs) and online booking systems, the Travel Distribution Seminar, held prior to VisitScotland Connect, provides an important introduction.

The VisitScotland Connect dinner is a highlight of the programme, bringing together buyers and Scottish tourism businesses in a relaxed setting. It provides an opportunity to deepen connections, continue conversations and strengthen relationships beyond the meeting tables.

In addition, a series of familiarisation trips are delivered either side of the workshop event, showcasing businesses and destinations across Scotland’s regions to buyers from across the globe.

These trips enable travel trade representatives to experience, first-hand, a diverse range of destinations and authentic experiences across Scotland.

Working with the travel trade

Throughout the year, our Intermediary Marketing Team promotes Scotland at major trade events, strengthening relationships with key buyers - such as Destination Management Companies (DMCs), wholesalers, tour operators and travel advisors across global markets. With more than half of international visitors planning and booking through travel intermediaries, these engagements are vital.

We support buyers to develop Scotland products, including experiences, packages and itineraries, while providing insights that inform our understanding of market needs. These insights help Scottish tourism and events businesses to develop and create experiences that align with visitor demand.
