The Genesis Scottish Open and ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open have both been awarded a three-year funding package which will help support the growth and development of both golf tournaments over the next three years.

The investment by the Scottish Government, which will be delivered by us, will strengthen the role both championships play in the golfing calendar and Scotland’s position as the perfect stage of events.

Staged at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, the tournament will return 8-12 July 2026 and will receive £6.3 million in funding until 2028.

Five-time Major winner Rory McIlroy has confirmed his return and will face off against a world-class field, including last year’s winner, Chris Gotterup.

Research commissioned in 2024 showed the DP World Tour event generated £19.2 million of next economic impact that year, supporting 234 jobs across Scotland.

ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open

World No.9 Lottie Woad has confirmed she will defend her title at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open taking place at Dundonald Links from 23-26 July 2026.

The news comes as the tournament will receive £4.5 million funding over the next three years through to 2028 to help support its growth and profile.

The 2026 tournament returns to Dundonald Links, following a record-breaking event that welcomed more than 11,000 spectators across the week.

The event returned to the Ayrshire venue in 2022 following a multi-million-pound redevelopment of the Verde Resorts venue. Dundonald Links previously hosted the championship in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
