Last week we celebrated Scottish Climate Week – but for us, climate action is a year-round effort. Just like our commitment to sustainability, our work to build and support international partnerships continues throughout the year.

One example of this is our partnership with The Travel Corporation (TTC) on a decarbonisation of the supply chain project which we launched in March 2024. When TTC visited Scotland in August, they brought together 25 consortia heads for the North American Market and 10 TTC executives for five days of strategic discussions, destination updates, and curated experiences.

The trip was designed to strengthen relationships and drive future business, and it also provided a platform to showcase Scotland.

The group explored local experiences that reflected the richness of our tourism offering, including an evening cruise on Loch Lomond and a tour of Stirling Castle.

On the last evening of their Scotland visit, we were invited to join their final dinner. This presented an opportunity for us to reaffirm our shared tourism sustainability goals, share Scotland’s story, and connect directly with key decision-makers in the North American market. As we look ahead to the next phase of our partnership with TTC, we continue to find ways to collaborate, contribute, and ensure Scotland remains a compelling and competitive destination at the forefront of climate change.

During the visit, we interviewed Melissa DaSilva, TTC Deputy CEO - Tour Division to hear her thoughts on how TTC has worked with VisitScotland, and the progression of our partnership to shape a greener future for tourism.
