Online buzz for museums across Scotland’s eight cities

To shine a spotlight on the range of fascinating museums across Scotland’s eight cities this summer, we teamed up with Museums Galleries Scotland – the National Development Body for the Scottish museums sector – in an exciting new campaign.

We worked hand-in-hand to help rebuild this vital part of Scotland’s economy and connect with visitors through our marketing. We want to promote what a visit to Scotland’s diverse regions can offer year-round, which will in turn help aid recovery of this sector.

This campaign aims to inspire visitors and locals to experience the many things to see and do on a trip to a museum in Scotland. We’ve matched up nine Scotland based social media influencers to explore museums in their local areas. From Aberdeen Art Gallery to Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum, to The McManus and more, our chosen influencers are demonstrating that everyone is welcome in Scotland’s galleries and museums... and reporting back to everyone

These influencer adventures took place this summer and generated a raft of inspiring, fun and educational days out for all.

And the results are in...

104,000

social media video views

230,000

reached through Instagram

Almost 25,000

Why not see for yourself? We’ve pulled together the list of influencers and the regions they visited so you too can take a look and amplify the reach through your social channels.
