Toolkit launched to help with staff induction to industry
Developed by industry with support from Skills Development Scotland and Scottish Tourism Alliance, the Tourism and Hospitality Staff Induction Toolkit is aimed at supporting micro, small and medium sized businesses to welcome and induct new staff to their business and sector.
Many businesses have highlighted the difficulties of effectively inducting new staff into their business given the staffing pressures they are under and that support to do this would be extremely useful to ensure staff are retained within the business and the sector. A positive and professional ‘first impression’ of the sector as an employer is vital to retaining both new and existing staff.
The toolkit includes information on:
- Support that is available to support the training and development of staff
- Achieving net zero
- Equality and diversity in the workplace
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Fair work
It also provides an introduction to the national tourism strategy Scotland Outlook 2030, and highlights support provided to businesses by VisitScotland and a range of other public and industry bodies.
