New travel trade event, replacing Expo

Our new business-to-business travel trade event, VisitScotland Connect, will bring together Scottish suppliers with international and UK buyers in 2023.

The workshop-style event, which will be held at P&J Live in Aberdeen on 19 and 20 April 2023, is now open for registration by trade-ready Scottish businesses.

VisitScotland Connect will replace Expo, our annual travel trade event, and will provide a quality platform to help drive tourism growth.

It will build on the success of Scotland Reconnect, which was held virtually in 2020 and 2021, and Discover Scotland, a virtual event followed by live showcases.

These events, which have had responsible tourism at their heart, generated thousands of meetings between Scottish businesses and tour operators, travel advisors and destination management companies.

New format of the event

We're committed to making it as easy as possible for businesses to do business in the current economic climate and have designed VisitScotland Connect with direct input from industry.

VisitScotland Connect will therefore be a workshop-style event, which is used successfully across global travel trade to connect buyers and suppliers.

The new format has been agreed following consultation with both buyers and suppliers and will reduce the cost and staffing needs for those taking part.

We'll also include a programme of familiarisation trips showcasing businesses, including those with examples of best practice in sustainability.

Interest and registration

To register and apply to participate, please visit the supplier portal.

Standard participation is £1,800+VAT. We're making it as affordable as possible by allowing businesses to pay in two instalments over two financial years.

We are focused on rebuilding international tourism demand and supporting Scotland’s ambitions to be a leading destination for responsible tourism.

We have worked with and listened to tourism businesses and stakeholders to design our 2023 travel trade event, ensuring it best meets the needs of the industry.

VisitScotland Connect will give Scottish businesses a platform to connect with key buyers from around the globe to help attract visitors and rebuild our valuable tourism industry.
