Panel session

In addition to hosting the conference, Zara will also facilitate a panel session with members of the Event Industry Advisory Group (EIAG), including Glasgow Life, Festivals Edinburgh and DF Concerts.

The EIAG brings together experienced leaders from across the events sector who work closely with the Scottish Government and partner agencies.

The group provides a clear, coordinated voice for the industry, helping to inform policy, shape regulation, and highlight key opportunities and challenges facing Scotland’s events landscape.

I’ve hosted and performed on stages around the world, delivering comedy, keynotes and conferences across Australia, Canada, Nepal and Uzbekistan, but some of the most powerful moments of my career have happened at home.

From working with The New York Times at COP26 in Glasgow, to performing as a comedian at the Edinburgh Festival, and launching the Longines Commonwealth Games Countdown Clock ahead of this summer’s Games, Scotland consistently proves itself on the global stage.

Our events are widely admired for their creativity, professionalism and sense of place. Scotland has an extraordinary events ecosystem, driven by passionate people and bold ideas, and this conference is a chance to bring that energy together, learn from one another and set the tone for the future. I’m genuinely excited to welcome the sector for what promises to be an inspiring and energising few days.

A showcase for the power of events

Scotland’s National Events Conference 2026 will bring together leaders from across the sporting and cultural events sector. Providing a platform for learning, collaboration, and innovation, the conference aligns with the ambitions of Scotland’s National Events Strategy: Scotland the Perfect Stage 2024-2035.
