Tourism has been one of the greatest economic casualties of the COVID-19 pandemic and at VisitScotland we’re focused on the recovery of the industry as we continue to work with, and support, businesses to ensure we rebuild this vital part of our economy.
Over the coming months our Corporate Communications team will be taking over our corporate social media channels to focus on each of Scotland’s regions, helping to shine the spotlight on individual areas across Scotland, and all the fantastic things to see and do.
Engaging the domestic market and promoting Scotland as a staycation destination remains a priority. The tourism industry needs the support of the people in Scotland as it starts to recover.
This week, our focus will be on Shetland – and we’d love for local tourism businesses to get involved. Look out for content on our Shetland regional Facebook Group, LinkedIn and Twitter.
On Wednesday 16 March our corporate Twitter channel @VisitScotNews will dedicate the day to raising awareness of our tourism offering across the industry. To engage with this activity, tag @VisitScotNews in your tweets and use the hashtag #VisitScotland.
Our takeover will include updates from Development Manager, Steve Mathieson, and other members of staff who deliver for Shetland, campaign updates, news from our partners, and lots more!
We look forward to sharing lots of content that showcases all that Shetland has to offer, and hearing from local tourism businesses about what’s new for 2022.
There will lots of content shared on our Shetland Tourism Industry Facebook Group. If you're not already a member, we'd love for you to join. Share an introduction to your business and get involved in the takeover.
