Our Corporate Services directorate keep the organisation running and look after our health and safety. They manage, and are responsible for facilities, procurement, information technology and finance systems and services. Facilities and procurement are also responsible for the organisation's property portfolio.
The Corporate Services directorate consists of four departments:
Led by Steven Speedie, this team is responsible for estates strategy and planning, continued maintenance and compliance work programme, KPI performance management, project management for capital development, organisational health and safety support, strategic planning for major risks and business continuity events and promoting sustainability strategy and social responsibility.
Led by Anne-Marie Greer, the finance team supports the achievement of the our corporate objectives by ensuring that we are compliant with the governance framework and uses best practice in the control and continuous improvement in the use of resources.
Led by Mike Slack, the IT team provide secure, robust and effective technology services and innovation to drive efficiency and improvement throughout the organisation. This includes business system development and support, internal infrastructure (servers, storage and SANs, voice and data networks, cloud and virtual environments, security and virus protection), service desk support and management of all user devices.
Led by Campbell Forsyth, the Procurement function supports our Corporate Plan through sustainable and efficient procurement of goods and services, developing collaborative working partnerships, whilst meeting statutory obligations.
Director of Corporate Services - Ken Neilson
Born and raised in Kilmarnock, Ken is a chartered accountant with extensive experience as both a finance and general management director. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).
After graduating from Glasgow University, Ken joined KPMG where he completed his chartered accountancy training. Since then he has worked in a number of roles in organisations which were undergoing significant change through integration or either internal or external growth, including British Aerospace, Life Technologies & Serologicals Ltd.
Ken joined VisitScotland in 2004 and in addition to his current portfolio has led the HR, Digital and Development and Business Planning and Improvement Teams.
