The Equality Act 2010 and the public sector equality duty sets out our duty as a public body. Thus, we have to show that we are always committed to:

  • eliminating discrimination

  • advancing equality of opportunity

  • promoting positive relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not

Equality mainstreaming report 2025-2029

This report outlines our commitment to promoting an inclusive environment for our employees at VisitScotland. It details the progress we have made over the past four years with a review of our Equality Outcomes. Highlighting our commitment to integrating equality considerations in all of our ways of working.

Moving forward, we will build on our achievements and continue to embed equality into all aspects of our work, ensuring that every employee feels valued and respected. Our Equality Outcomes for 2025-2029 focus on three key areas:

  • creating a menopause action plan
  • introducing a re-induction programme to support employees returning from long term family leave
  • continuing our focus on our recruitment approach by implementing new learning on unconscious bias
