VisitScotland Quality Assurance Scheme - Enquiry Form

The VisitScotland Quality Assurance Scheme for self-catering has been developed in partnership with the industry to provide a comprehensive, independent, accurate assessment of the quality of experience they are offering across all areas of their business.

The scheme is designed to inspire and encourage improvement within the self-catering sector, helping every Quality Assurance Member achieve their full potential in providing the best possible visitor experience.

Quality Assurance Membership and displaying your award speaks volumes to your visitors – it demonstrates you take quality seriously.

What is a self-catering property?

We will use the following definition when deciding whether to grade a business as self-catering. If your establishment does not meet this definition, please consider whether an alternative sector’s criteria may be more appropriate.

Self-catering – The property must be a self-contained unit with bedrooms, bathrooms, public area and kitchen all contained behind one main door where occupants have sole access.

Glamping - recognising the growth of visitor demand for glamping accommodation in recent years, we will be introducing a Quality Assurance scheme designed to recognise the unique qualities that this sector offers. Appearing in many different forms, glamping can include camping pods, wigwams, teepees, treehouses, and yurts - glamping can vary from the basic and comfortable to the grand and luxurious.

Further details will be released in due course. In the meantime, if you are a glamping provider and not already engaged with us, please register your interest in the scheme by emailing [email protected].
