Providing the best possible experience

A Quality Assurance award speaks volumes to visitors. It shows you take quality seriously.

Our Quality Assurance (QA) Scheme for self-catering was developed in partnership with the industry. It provides a comprehensive accurate assessment of the quality of accommodation you offer. Find out more about the minimum requirements and criteria and of the scheme.

Who is eligible for the scheme?

We will use the following definition when deciding whether to grade a business as self-catering:

The property must be a self-contained unit with bedrooms, bathrooms, public area and kitchen. All contained behind one main door where occupants have sole access.

An alternative sector may be more appropriate if you do not meet this definition.

Note on glamping

Recognising the growth of visitor demand for glamping accommodation in recent years, we are currently developing a Quality Assurance Scheme designed to recognise the unique qualities that this sector offers.

Further details will be released in due course. In the meantime, if you are a glamping provider and not already engaged with us, please register your interest in the scheme by emailing customer.services@visitscotland.com.
