What can the LEADER Canals project offer to help you promote your organisation?

West Lothian LEADER and Kelvin Valley & Falkirk LEADER have funded a project with the vision of:

The Forth and Clyde and Union Canals will be recognised within the Central Belt and further afield as a destination offering opportunities for all ages and abilities whether for day trips or weekend adventures and to access the cultural, industrial and natural heritage.

Part of the project includes making sure local businesses and organisations have the resources they need to help make the most of the canals.

The Forth and Clyde and Union Canals are a great asset to the Kelvin Valley and Falkirk and the West Lothian areas but have yet to take full advantage of their potential to draw in a wider visitor audience.

One of the great advantages of the canal route is the flat towpaths meaning that they can be enjoyed by people of all abilities and fitness, from cyclists looking to traverse the length of the canals to short walks for less able people. The canals' proximity to many sites of archaeological and historical interest makes for an ideal visitor attraction with national and international potential.

The project team are looking for your valuable feedback on how they can assist you in making the most of the central Scotland Canals.

The survey closes on 7 January, so get your views in now.
