Happy anniversary to VisitScotland Expo - as our event marks its 40th edition this week.
The event, which has been taking place at the SEC (Scottish Event Campus) in Glasgow on 10 and 11 April, sees over 340 businesses and more than 550 buyers from across the world attending.
Buyers have flown in from 28 different countries including Brazil, Australia, the US, China, Germany, and France – as well as support from Delta Airlines, Finnair, Hainan and Jet2 delivering top tour operators - to experience what Scotland has to offer and make connections with Scottish suppliers.
Delegates attending VisitScotland Expo also participate in familiarisation (fam) trips to different regions of Scotland, to give them a real-life first-hand experience of the types of holidays they will be able to provide to customers.
VisitScotland Expo allows businesses - including accommodation providers, visitor attractions and activity providers – to showcase their products and services to hundreds of tour operators and travel agents from all over the world.
This annual event is a key opportunity to firmly place Scotland on the travel trade’s radar and it is wonderful to see so many new and returning businesses getting involved.
VisitScotland Expo began as the Scotland Travel Trade Fair in 1980 before being rebranded in 2001.
It has grown into Scotland’s premier business to business event giving tour operators and travel agents from across the globe the chance to meet Scottish tourism businesses and learn about their products and services – all under one roof.
Last year saw over 300 companies showcased with over 9,500 pre-made appointments taking place.
