On Wednesday 27 February we welcomed over 60 businesses from across Ayrshire & Arran for our ‘Let’s get digital!’ event, which aimed to encourage businesses to make use of digital opportunities to grow.
VisitScotland, Business Gateway Ayrshire, East Ayrshire Council, North Ayrshire Council, South Ayrshire Council and Scottish Enterprise joined forces to organise the event which was held at the Riverside Lodge Hotel, Irvine.
Businesses in attendance heard from our Director of Marketing, Vicki Miller, about digital trends in tourism, how VisitScotland plan to stay ahead of the curve and what this means for tourism businesses. Booking.com’s Senior Account Manager, Alan Bulloch, discussed the importance of working with online travel agents and the traveller’s journey.
The rest of the day consisted of Digital Tourism Scotland workshops given by Brian Tait and Mark Hunter on the topics of:
- Is your tourism business online bookable?
- Inspiring written content for tourism
- How to become more visible online
- Search engine optimisation for tourism
