Tourism businesses across Midlothian have a unique opportunity to take part in a renowned training programme.
The three-day bespoke course focuses on destination development and leadership. It's being run for Midlothian Tourism Forum members taught and accredited by Edinburgh Napier University.
It's funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and administered by Midlothian Council.
Participants will be taught by industry, leadership, and destination experts (in person and online), drawing on local, national, and UK case studies.
Throughout the training, participants will develop skills, knowledge, and insights to enhance destination development and leadership, with topics including:
- resilience and recovery scenario planning
- digital economy and data driven innovation
- responding to trends in consumer behaviours
- timportance of balanced, sustainable, and responsible development that respects the context of the wider local community
