Tourism Statistics
VisitScotland manages a suite of statistical surveys which combine
to monitor the progress of tourism in Scotland.
These include:
- The Great Britain Tourism Survey -
which provides volume and value estimates of domestic tourism (from
within Scotland and the rest of the UK) as well as other data.
- The Office of National Statistics' International
Passenger Survey - which provides details of tourism from
abroad
- The Scottish Accommodation Occupancy Survey -
which gathers and analyses data on occupancy levels from businesses
including hotels, bed and breakfasts, self-caterers, caravanning
and camping parks and hostels.
- The Great Britain Day Visits
Survey - which gathers information to measure the volume
and value of tourism day visits taken by GB residents to
destinations in the UK
Data and analysis from these surveys can be found in these
