other main public agencies involved in Scottish tourism, Scottish Enterprise and Highlands & Islands
Enterprise, are funded through the Scottish Executive's Department of Enterprise and Lifelong Learning.

is Scotland’s National Booking and Information Service. Their website and contact centre facility is
seen as the easiest route for consumers looking to buy Scottish tourism products such as short break
packages, city breaks and so on.
EventScotland EventScotland is a joint initiative
VisitScotland has with the Scottish Executive. It is designed to help develop and co-ordinate events,
contributing to the dual aims of creating a must-visit destination and gaining economic growth for Scotland;
central to the work of VisitScotland.
Pride & Passion Pride & Passion give
their time and energy to help drive things forward on behalf of the tourism industry. They are drawn
from a spectrum of business people to make sure all angles and obstacles are covered. Support is received
from the private sector and funding comes from VisitScotland, Scottish Enterprise, Highland and Islands
Enterprise and the European Social Fund.
Scottish Enterprise Scottish Enterprise is Scotland's
main economic development agency, funded by the Scottish Executive. Their mission is to help the people
and businesses of Scotland succeed. In doing so, they aim to build a world-class economy.
Highlands & Islands Enterprise The Highlands
and Islands of Scotland has around 19,000 businesses, more than 440,000 individuals with skills and
potential of their own - and more than 8,000 voluntary and community groups. The task of the Highlands
and Islands Enterprise (HIE) network is to unlock that potential and help create a strong, diverse and
sustainable economy.
VisitBritain VisitBritain has 27 offices and
operates the British Visitor Centre in central London. They work closely with the national tourist boards
of Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales to promote an attractive image of Britain as a whole.
Convention of Scottish Local Authorities COSLA,
the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, is the representative voice of Scottish local government
and also acts as the employers’ association on behalf of all Scottish councils.
