Area Tourism Partnerships
|
Area Tourism Partnerships are new structures set up in 2005 to drive forward local tourism priorities in an integrated way. A network of Area Tourism Partnerships covers the whole of Scotland and these groups decide the local actions which will contribute to the industry ambition of growing the sector by 50% by 2015. The Partnerships are action orientated, bringing together local players from across the private and public sectors, such as tourism operators, local tourism groups, Chambers of Commerce, Local Authorities, Local Enterprise Companies and VisitScotland. Each Partnership is tasked with agreeing the priorities for action at a local level. Once they have agreed what commitments each partner will make, they produce a local Action Plan (called an Area Tourism Action Plan). They also monitor the progress of actions detailed in the plan, ensuring that the identified actions are carried out and support the delivery of the national tourism strategy Partnerships
