Visitor Attraction Fees

Visitor Attractions Fees and procedures There is a flat rate participation fee and all attractions will be invoiced annually. The fee is currently £106 (inc VAT). VisitScotland works closely with an Overseeing Committee, which oversees the operation of the scheme and assists in policy decisions. This comprises representatives of the relevant trade organisations, individual trade representatives and representatives from VisitScotland, and the Scottish Consumer Council. The Committee oversees the operation and development of the Scheme with particular reference to the consistency of standards and results, handling appeals and promotion of the Scheme. An appeals procedure exists for visitor attractions that are dissatisfied with the award given. A second visit can be requested for which a fee of £82.25 (inc VAT). is charged. If the operator is still dissatisfied after the result of the second visit, an appeal can be made to the Overseeing Committee. The Overseeing Committee, whose decision is final, will consider all appeals if they cannot be resolved by a second visit. An additional visit may be carried out where the grading officer would be accompanied by a member of the Overseeing Committee. |
