Rollout of new initiatives for businesses

Following a period of industry feedback, a new development will see businesses getting specific information on their listing.

Website performance reports

VisitScotland.com is preparing to communicate visitor numbers to accommodation providers’ web listings. It will also report quarterly on progress throughout the year. The new system will be introduced at the beginning of April and will provide information in four areas:

  • Number of unique visits to your entry on VisitScotland.com
  • Number of bookings received
  • Number of e-mails sent via the VisitScotland.com website direct to you from your listing
  • The number of visitors to your own website that came through via VisitScotland.com

This development is in response to tourism businesses asking us to help them understand what VisitScotland.com is delivering for them - this will give them a very clear picture of this.

It is crucial that businesses keep their website information up to date, interesting and informative. However, VisitScotland.com will review those whose visitor numbers fall below a minimum amount and will offer them help and advice on how to improve their performance.

Re: VisitScotland.com
Yay - at last! Thank you very much!

The most useful will be the number of hits to our visitscotland.com page.

The page has so much information and availability, visitors may well have found us through you - but I have never known about it!

I can track all the other points - but appreciate others may not have web stat counters on their own web site - though they should!!

Best
