Quality Assurance - Hotels

As a result of changing guest expectations, and feedback from industry, we have reviewed and updated the Quality Assurance (QA) criteria for the hotel sector. This is the minimum criteria an establishment must meet in order to be designated as a hotel within the QA scheme.

As part of this, all establishments are now designated as ‘Hotel’,  this removes variations across the sector, such as Country House Hotel, making it more straightforward for visitors when they are searching for accommodation.

Exclusive Use Venues should also use the 'Hotel' criteria.

Hotels are required to implement at least 18 out of (up to) 38 sustainability actions to achieve the minimum standards for Quality Assurance. In 2019 this will increase to 20 actions.
