Quality Assurance

What is involved?

While part of the joy of any holiday is discovering new things along the way, people like to know what they’re going to get from the businesses they encounter. And there’s no quicker and more reassuring way of saying what your business is all about than by having it classified in our internationally recognised Quality Assurance (QA) scheme.

It doesn’t matter if you run a two-star guest house or a five-star hotel, one of Scotland’s best bars or a camping and caravan park, the Quality Assurance scheme tells customers what to expect from your business. Based on customer research, each award is a thorough professional assessment reflecting the criteria that customers really value. More than that, it’s an official award from the national tourism body – and it’s a scheme that travellers trust.

While our opinion undoubtedly carries a lot of weight with tourists, it’s not the only one that counts. Increasingly, visitors are turning to customer ratings and reviews – especially when they’re searching online and planning their itineraries.

From Autumn 2010, we’ll be piloting a new approach to combine our official rating system with customer views and opinions, adding another exciting dimension to the Quality Assurance scheme.
