Perthshire Talks: threats & hacks

From cyber hacks to real life threats, the latest Perthshire Talks event brings together experts in the fields of counter terrorism security and ethical hacking to give businesses a better understanding of what to do in these situations.

Mark Irwin of Police Scotland will talk about Project Griffin. The threat from international terrorism and the significant security challenges it presents to the United Kingdom. Mark will provide businesses with a better understanding of what to do if they find themselves involved at the scene of a terrorist incident, or if they should witness the preparations for a future attack. Offline and online, the digital world can also bring with it threats to your business.

Colin McLean of Abertay University will delve into the domain of ethical hacking. Do you know how secure your business is from hackers? Have you ever received a suspicious email before? Colin will look at some of the methods that could be used by a malicious hacker to break into your systems and more importantly will explore what your business can do to better protect themselves.

To finish up we will also find out from the VisitScotland Insights team what our international visitors think by exploring travel patterns and behaviours.
