About Year of Creative
Year of Creative Scotland 2012, the third of four focus years,
will celebrate Scotland’s cultural and creative vibrancy.
The Scottish Government established the focus years to maintain
the momentum of Homecoming Scotland 2009. Coordinated national
activity throughout 2010 - 2013, will be a showcase of Scotland’s
assets, in the journey towards the second Homecoming in 2014.
Like with all the focus years, EventScotland is leading the
steering group for Year of Creative Scotland 2012, on behalf of the
Scottish Government.
Creative Scotland is this year’s key partner working with
VisitScotland and VOCAL, the association for culture and leisure
managers in Scotland. Creative Scotland activity will benefit from
the profile offered through the 2012 focus year and the London
Olympic Games.
Year of Creative Scotland 2012 will help to position Scotland’s
cultural reputation with its people, its visitors, and its creative
peers abroad.
The strategic partners for Year of Creative 2012 are:
- Creative Scotland - the national leader for Scotland’s arts,
screen and creative industries
- EventScotland - Scotland’s National Events Agency
- Scottish Government - Live, Work, Study in Scotland
- VisitScotland - Scotland’s National Tourism Organisation
