VisitScotland's Visitor Services and Quality directorate fulfils two important functions for Scottish Tourism in terms of Quality Assurance and advice:

1. We operate 20 schemes to promote quality and maintain standards among tourism establishments. This includes four core schemes plus the Welcome Schemes.
2. We also offer support and advice on a range of quality-related issues for businesses.

Over 9,000 businesses are participants in at least one of these schemes.
