Chief Executive's Office


The Chief Executive's Office is a strategic support function for the organisation and consists of four departments:


Business Affairs

The Business Affairs Team is responsible for the organisation’s compliance, Government and Parliamentary activity.


The team is responsible for managing Board meetings, the external programmes for the Chairman and Chief Executive, and the Consultancy Services function of VisitScotland.

Corporate Communications

Our Corporate Communications department manages and protects VisitScotland's reputation with external stakeholders. Its principal activity is effective communications with a wide range of external stakeholders (Scottish Government, media, industry) and staff.

Human Resources (HR)

The HR department ensures we have the skills and knowledge to manage our people an develop as an organisation.

Insight The Insight Team collect and analyse data on tourism and related issues to produce our Research & Statistics. This ensures that the marketing strategies of VisitScotland and the Scottish tourism industry are based on the best possible information and thinking, and allows VisitScotland and Scottish tourism businesses to develop effective operational strategies and world-class products and services. 


The head of Human Resources attends VisitScotland board meetings as part of the Senior Management Team.
