The Chief Executive's office is a strategic support function for the organisation. It consists of three departments. They are Corporate Communications, Human Resources and Insight.

These teams are responsible for protecting our reputation, delivering meaningful insight and ensuring effective staff engagement.

Corporate Communications

Our Corporate Communications department manages and protects VisitScotland's reputation with external stakeholders. Carolyn Churchill leads the team. Their principal activity is effective communications to promote the work of VisitScotland.

They work with a wide range of groups including the media and the tourism industry. They also engage with staff to support them becoming Scottish tourism ambassadors.

Human Resources

Our Human Resources department strives to make VisitScotland an employer of choice. Lynn Jack leads the team. They foster a supportive and friendly environment. Their aim is for people to feel valued and able to progress their careers.

The team offer support and guidance, as well as a variety of benefits. They are also responsible for managing the organisation’s learning and development drive.

Insight

The Insight department focuses on several areas of research. They include market research, trendspotting and statistical analysis. The department also conducts economic assessments, digital analytics and data analysis. Susan Dickie leads the team.

They aim to support the growth of the visitor economy. They provide knowledge and insight to colleagues, partners and businesses. This helps inform and guide the development of robust, forward-looking and measurable strategies.
